Food access manifests itself in many different forms, and we have explored many means by which food reaches people in Syracuse. Some measurements of food access include the market locations at which food is purchased, the methods of food purchasing, food distribution based on charity, and of course public systems designed to ameliorate hunger. Physical access, as well as economic access to food are components to a secure food system, but it is also requisite that there be an abundant supply of healthy and safe food.
