Future

The future of food production in the Central New York region has yet to be revealed. Many new and exciting ways to distribute food have been introduced to the region, but it remains to be seen whether these innovative approaches to “local food” will embed themselves into Central New York’s food system for the long term. Among some of the more promising methods is Farm to Institution. Main Street Farms for example, has recently agreed to supply SUNY Cortland with a set amount of tomatoes each year. CSA’s are also among some of the more popular methods to direct distribution.
